Welcome to the Santa Barbara Ski and Sports Club. I think of us as a Fun and Fitness group. All of our activities are fun, and most involve exercise. We love skiing and boarding, but we also bike, tennis, dance, golf, kayak, swim, and plan lots of other activities. Plus we are pretty good at eating and drinking. Our newsletter, the Sitzmark, has all of our up to date information, as well as photos and details on recent events. You should read it.

Some of the things I have enjoyed most are getting to know people on our trips to Mammoth. They are on a few long weekends during ski season and we leave from Earl Warren showgrounds on a big comfortable bus (with a tended bar in the rear). Our rooms are arranged for at Sierra Nevada Lodge and roommates are provided, if one is requested. The Lodge has a great restaurant, and bar with entertainment on the weekends. It also has an excellent hot tub where we meet at days end. We return home after three days of skiing or boarding (or relaxing) on the same convenient bus. And it's at the bargain price of only $295 each for a double room and the bus rides. One of the activities that have created the best memories are the week long trips. Last winter it was Aspen and Sun Valley. In February we will be going to North Lake Tahoe, and in March to Banff, Canada. The club votes on our favorite places and our awesome trip director Tom Doolittle takes care of all the details. Just like the Mammoth trips, all you have to do is sign up, pay up, and show up. Our meetings are one of the places we meet old and new friends, and learn about up coming activities. They are at 7:30 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays from September to May mostly (check the calendar) at the Chase Palm Park Center at 236 E. Cabrillo Blvd. All of our meetings are open to the public, so come for a visit. Our annual membership fee is only $50, plus $10 for a name tag. It is a requirement to take advantage of our trips as well as some of our member only events. See the Join Now link.
